Earth Rising now available on Amazon in Print and Kindle Edition. Novel Number 4 in the Deovolante Space Opera series.

Picture
In Earth Rising Eloise Bright, well-known physicist, again encounters the strange alien known as Mur Ray, who she met in Hoo Doo Canyon and who has decided he wants her for his mate. He is on Earth to assemble the team of aliens from the Deovolante Galaxy who are helping with the Rising, which will move Earth to a higher plane of existence. Eloise is pulled into the Rising and is exposed to technology she never dreamed of and to the mysterious allure of Mur Ray. She meets the Rising team at their base on a ranch in Oregon. Along with two of her colleagues she tries to make the Rising work. But they encounter resistance from Earth herself who erupts into volcanoes and earthquakes in protest. In addition, the Earth's plant and animal life refuse to cooperate with the Rising because they don't want humans to remain as rulers afterward. It looks like the Rising is doomed, and Eloise distances herself from Mur Ray and the rest of the Deovolante team. But a slight problem surfaces, and Eloise once again has to face Mur Ray. They both have to face the conflict among human beings that threatens the Earth.  In the end, it is up to Eloise to make the decision that will affect the rest of her life and the future well being of her colleagues and planet.

Heroes in the End: In Print & Digital
A Fiona Marlowe Novel
Available on Amazon.com

Fiona Marlowe and Jake Manyhorses team up to find his daughter and save his long lost brother from a life of dissipation.  In the process they discover there are some heroes in the family.

My eighth book is now available in e-book format on Amazon.com.  Cover art is by Dona Townsend, former Burns, Oregon resident who now lives in Washington with husband, Dennis. Dona's title for the watercolor is "My Heroes Have Always Been", and when I saw it I knew that cowboy had a story to tell.  So I bought the watercolor from Dona, and it is now in my collection and became part of the cover for Heroes in the End.  Cover design is by graphic artist, Rachel Bostwick.  And I wrote the book!  Hope you enjoy it.  Here is the short version of the story:

In the third book of the Fiona Marlowe novels, the mystery of the bones in the hot spring surfaces again. DNA evidence suggests that the bones are Jake's ex-wife, and he is a suspect in her demise. This time Fiona is determined to solve the mystery of whose bones those really are, once and for all.  At the same time Jake's troublesome older brother, Ross, contacts Jake to bail him out of jail in Nevada and thinks he may have seen Jake's daughter, who Jake hasn't seen in fifteen years. Fiona and Jake set off to find his daughter and clear his name on a journey that takes them from their ranch to Las Vegas to the bull riding world and back again. In the process they discover there are heroes in the family.

A Far Out Galaxy
Book One

I just finished "A Far Out Galaxy" by Marjorie Thelen. I put it down with a smile and feel that I am only part way through a wonderful adventure. Hopefully the sequel will be available soon. The book was funny, light and very clever. It also managed to address some serious human issues. Perhaps, with Vita and Will looking out for planet earth, we still have a chance to become what we might be. Read and enjoy. Pamela on Amazon

Hoodoo Canyon
Book Three in the Deovolante Space Opera

Picture
In this mystery I explore one of my favorite questions:  What is reality?  This time with a group of physicists invited to attend a top-secret conference in Utah’s Bryce Canyon National Park. But the conference organizer doesn’t show up and one of the attendees turns out to be an extraterrestrial.  It’s mystery with humor and a little romance starring renowned theoretical physicist, Dr. Eloise Bright, who finds it odd that a top-secret physics conference will be held at a remote backcountry campsite in Bryce Canyon National Park.  Curiosity overcomes reason, and she agrees to go, not knowing who will attend. When the conference organizer doesn’t show, the attending physicists team up to try to find him. One of them takes extraordinary interest in Eloise and, in an aside to her, confesses he is from another galaxy, which she laughs off at the same time wondering what she’s gotten herself into. However, the professed extraterrestrial might be the key to finding the conference organizer.  Eloise’s scientific training is further put to the test as she must come to terms with a hoodoo curse that brings bad luck, with the conference organizer’s disappearance, and with her desire to be back at her university teaching job and in the nice, safe world of math equations. Ultimately, she has to decide if she really believes her eyes.

Hiking in Bryce Canyon

The setting for Hoodoo Canyon is Bryce Canyon National Park where John and I stayed for a few days in May, 2012. Hiking the canyons gives a good grasp of the size of the park and the hoodoos are up close and personal.  Hoodoos are the stacks of rocks that look like someone placed them there. Erosion of soft rock, leaves the harder rock in place. The effect is astonishing. The Lodge is very comfortable and the food excellent. The elevation is 8,000 feet and the place can get very windy and downright cold, even in summer. What a great place for a mystery!

"For me this book had a very satisfying ending and the characters fit their parts. The language and actions captured the rich rhythm of Latin America which was comforting. Having a storm appear at that junction of the story was breath-holding and pure genius. Now I need the sequel."  Lorna on Amazon
