4/27/2012 0 Comments Let it restI've finished the final edits on the next novel I'll publish, The Hieroglyphic Staircase. Now I let it rest. In a couple of weeks, I'll look at it one last time then send it to Bookbaby to publish for e-readers. While I was working on the edit of the HS, my current WIP (work in progress) was resting. I finished about 100 pages of this latest book, and let it rest. I'll go back now and work from the beginning adding, editing, cutting as I comb my way through those first 100 pages. I've been writing down ideas as I think of them in the notebook I keep by date of my progress on a book. It seems like I have to back away from a novel for a while to let it settle, then I can go back with fresh eyes to see how it looks. I usually have two or three projects I work on at a time, so that at any one time, one of them is resting.
